Farmers in Yobe State, under the aegis of the All-Farmers’ Association of Nigeria (AFAN), have commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his administration’s giant strides in the agricultural sector, especially in attaining food security despite the daunting challenges.
The farmers expressed delight at Buni administration’s support and achievements in the sector, including launching and distributing the multi-billion naira implements and inputs.
In an interaction with journalists in Damaturu, the state capital, the chairman of AFAN in Yobe, Alhaji Usman Ngari, applauded the state government for “the provision of critical infrastructure and launch of the massive multi-billion agricultural empowerment programme.”
He said other interventions include procuring and distributing fertiliser, herbicides, and pesticides to farmers across the states at subsidised prices.
The AFAN chairman said the farmers were “proud to be associated with the giant strides” and urged its members to use the implements well.
He added, “We continue to express gratitude to the governor, the commissioner for agriculture, and indeed the state government for all their support of the farmers.”
